Kristina Placko and Daryl Paskell are the guides behind Fly Fishing Southland NZ, operating out of Lumsden in the heart of Southland — the region with New Zealand's largest trout biomass. Between them they bring together two distinct guiding philosophies and a combined depth of experience that is hard to match anywhere in the South Island. Daryl has been guiding in Southland since 1996, built over decades of intimate knowledge of the region's rivers, their hatches, their moods, and their fish. Kristina is NZPFGA registered, holds a Department of Conservation concession, and runs her own guiding business — Stray South — alongside the joint operation. Her approach is patient and inclusive: she makes fly fishing accessible to anyone, from complete beginners to experienced anglers looking to refine their technique. Together they cover an almost unlimited variety of waters across Southland: pristine freestone rivers, clear spring creeks, stillwater lakes, and remote backcountry streams that few outsiders ever reach. Both fly fishing and spin fishing on light tackle are on offer. The result is a guiding operation with the experience to put serious anglers on big fish, and the patience to bring new anglers into the sport properly.

Hi, my name is Marcin. I live in Norway and fishing has been my passion for many years. Through Go Fishing Norway I organize small, authentic fishing adventures in the beautiful nature of Southern Norway. My trips are a little different from typical fishing charters in the north. Here it’s not only about catching fish – it’s about relaxing, slowing down and experiencing the wild Norwegian nature. Crystal clear water, quiet fjords, small islands and fresh Nordic air create the perfect place to reset your mind and enjoy fishing the way it should be

Martín "Tincho" Chambó

Argentina Villa La Angostura, Argentina

Brown TroutRainbow Trout

Martín, known to everyone as Tincho, runs Cordillera Fly from Villa La Angostura as a family operation. He fishes the Alicurá reservoir and the Limay system, from the boat and on foot, and takes both fly and spin anglers — which makes him one of the few good options for a mixed group where not everyone casts a fly rod. His programs are built as half-day or full-day blocks that combine into longer custom trips, and he is explicit that he will reshape them around a client's schedule and preferences.

Pablo Zaleski

Argentina San Martín de los Andes, Argentina

Brown TroutRainbow Trout

Pablo Zaleski works the classic San Martín de los Andes river system — the Malleo, Chimehuín, Collón Curá, Quilquihue and Traful. He does not sell guiding as a standalone service and does not work to a standard daily rate: his business is complete fishing programs that combine lodging, water access, guiding and transport, built around each group. Which lodge or private ranch a trip runs from depends on the group, the rivers they want and the kind of experience they are after. Contact is direct with the owner from the first brief to the last day.
